Bienvenue, Gwen and Jane, both French and English speaking, welcome you to Les Grands Coudrais – located in the unspoilt Vienne and the beautiful countryside of the Poitou- Charante, Les Grands Coudrais is an enchanting group of charming, converted stone cottages dating back to the 18th century, all sharing an enclosed swimming pool with, badminton, volleyball, table tennis and petanque. Each cottage is fully equipped having wooden beams, exposed traditional stone walls, and French doors opening onto a private and enclosed garden were you will find your own bbq.

We live in the adjacent farmhouse, and are on hand to help you make the most of your stay. This is a delightful region to holiday for couples or families who want to enjoy a relaxing break. In Civray – less than 3kms away, we have two markets a week every Tuesday and Friday……………. And if you are feeling energetic we have bikes to hire to get you there!

For the historians, the region has a wealth of Romanesque churches and Chateaux’s nearby, including a 12th century church in the centre of Civray. Families can visit the local lakes with small sandy beaches and enjoy canoeing on the Charente. Fishermen will also find well-stocked lakes of Carp and other varieties and if it’s Golf that you search then Le Manior de Beauvoir is less than 1 hour away. Take a look at our activities page to find out more of what’s going on in the region.
